Activities and Experiences
Peace and quiet may be our bread and butter at WinShape Retreat, but there is no shortage of fun and adventure! We encourage you to plan free time for your group members who may prefer a long, casual hike to take in the breathtaking mountain scenery or a high-thrill challenge on our custom ropes course, we’ve got an itinerary that suites your group’s preferences to create the ultimate retreat experience.
*Starred activities require a minimum number of participants or need to be scheduled prior to your visit. Please note that if you are attending one of WinShape Retreat’s Marriage Programs, activities have already been pre-planned as part of your itinerary.
Offered by WinShape Wilderness, the outdoor-adventure course combines wilderness and learning to teach principles of effective relationships in marriage, leadership, ministry and corporate teams. This activity is designed to be for the entire group.
Treat yourself to a relaxing massage by a licensed massage therapist without leaving WinShape Retreat!
Guests can tap into their creative side with pottery and create their own piece with assistance from our master potter.
Basic to Intermediate Fly Casting*
This two hour Fly Fishing course will offer a brief overview of equipment followed by hands on casting instruction on WinShape’s beautiful pond.
Grab one of our poles or bring your own and enjoy casting your line in our stocked fishing lake for a relaxing afternoon. Catch and release only.
The Fundamentals of Photography*
Combining classroom instruction and an outdoor photo session guests will cover the fundamentals of camera operation, photographic digital imaging, lenses, depth of field, and exposure meters.
Engage your creative side as you make a necklace or bracelet with glass beads, gemstones and sterling silver wire. Wear your project home!
Grab a partner and enjoy this challenging, high-energy activity that will create memories to last a lifetime. No previous experience necessary.
Lace up and hit the paved road or dirt trails by foot to see our natural country setting on more than 90 miles of mountain campus trails.
Tennis, Lawn Games and Frisbee Golf
Gather the teams for energizing games such as flag football, croquet, bocce ball, and disc golf on our spacious fields or enjoy one of our two tennis courts.
A tractor-pulled wagon stuffed with sweet, soft hay is a time-honored way to enjoy the open air and lush mountain scenery.
From ellipticals to treadmills, we’ll keep you fit as a fiddle during your stay.
Available at a nearby facility, golf is wonderful way to enjoy some free time.
Choose a 24-speed or tandem bike for two and enjoy the miles of paved roads as well as the paved Viking Trail.
Guided and self-guided tours are available to special historical sites including the Old Mill, Frost Chapel, Oak Hill Home and Museum, House O’Dreams and Berry College Campus.
